Vee is for Vortex – Chapter 43

The day at Don Lothario’s fitness store started out with Don practicing some pick up lines. So far he hasn’t had any luck with the ladies – which was the initial reason why he set up this store at all, so he’d better get it going. Just look at his smug face!

Vee is for Vortex – Chapter 42

We are back at it again for with second business day at Don Lothario’s new fitness store, Don’s Slim Sim Supplies! Don spent the night in the upstairs apartment, so he could start early on restocking some items and open up the store. I decided that Don would make a good business owner, so first thing in the morning I let him quit his job as a doctor (he was plum at it anyway).

Hell yeah, I’m awesome!

And look how happy he was! Being noncommittal, this career change made him extremely happy. You go, Don!

He had some yoghurt for breakfast, which he regretted immediately. Looks like this yoghurt stinks!

After restocking some items, Don opened up the store. Rebecca, his first employee, arrived and he gave her a motivation speech on how well she was doing (What?! She is so bad at this, always hanging on the computer instead of working. Pffft).

When the first customers arrived, chaos ensued! Not only was Rebecca not doing her job (again) but only staring at the customers wide eyed. I did assign her the task of answering questions but she just didn’t do anything! Also, suddenly Nadja Vanilla came in and started yelling at Don! If you remember, they had a brief thing back when Don was still Nina’s boyfriend. Nadja seemed pretty angry that he never called her again!

Don – as he is – tried to sweettalk her. But he was so busy charming Nadja that he didn’t even notice angry customers leaving the store because no one attended to them (where is Rebecca, darn it!).

Don’s charm seemed to work at first but then Nadja decided that she wasn’t going to fall for Don again, and left. Bummer.

That didn’t go so well! I then started looking around for potential buyers that Don could talk to – more business, less flirting! I saw Paolo being all giddy excited about this sports outfit.

While I sent Don upstairs I found Rebecca. On the computer. Again *sigh*. I thought I had locked that door! I had Don scold her for slacking but it didn’t seem to help. I need more employees. And better ones.

In the end, it was not Paolo but Bella Goth who Don rang up for some athletic attire. I’m sure he wouldn’t have minded flirting with her too, but her husband Mortimer was snooping around so I let it be strictly business for now.

And after hours and hours of hard *cough* work, I finally had enough points to buy my first business perk – An additional employee! And gosh, how we need it.

Don made a few calls for new employees and…

sorry, Rebecca, but you’re out. There are better candidates out there. I decided to hire Severus Snape although he’s not quite Don’s type, but he just has a lot of skills. To make amends, I also hired Belle Rivers who should perfectly fit Don’s taste. Woo!

After closing down the shop, Don got a call.

Wait, Sandra, why are you dressed like a clown? Guess tragic clown guy left a lasting impression on you huh. Well I guess, since she had a kid with him… Oh well, let’s go out!

I just love Sandra’s outfit. She and Don joked around for a bit but of course then she got affected by the “Run away”-Bug and left even though she was the one who asked Don out. Rude.

Don was pretty desperate for female attention at this point since he had scored no one at the store yet. And the only female at this bar, was this alien lady. She was also pretty much the only one at the bar, save the bartender. Sigh.

Her name is Anyala Nirtam and I created her for fun because I wanted to try alien CAS. Don challenged her to a game of Don’t wake the Llama. Or more like, a game of Don woke the Llama. Haha, badumm tss. Oh god. I’m going to leave now. Sorry.

Anyway, Don and Anyala got along so well, that Don decided to take things to the next level…

That’s it for today folks! See you around in the next part to find out how things progress between Don and Anyala!

Vee is for Vortex – Chapter 41

This week we will be following Don Lothario! Previously in Don’s Life: He was living in the Caliente household with Katharina and her two daughters Dina and Nina. He had a relationship with Nina but also kissed several other women. He dumped Nina because she got too clingy and thus left the household. He is now on his own in a small house in Willow Creek.

Oh, and he’s also a terrible doctor. I think it’s time for Don to find a new job and a new way to pick up women. Let’s see… Oh, I have an idea.

Yep, we are opening a business! I had Don get a loan (motherlode, hehe), but he’ll have to pay it back now that he’s not living off the Caliente’s anymore. Don’s dream shop is… dun dun dun … a fitness store! Where he can also pick up hot chicks who come in to buy yoga pants or something like that. Welcome to Don’s Slim Sim Supplies.

This is one of my better builds, I believe. It has a small apartment up top as well so Don can be around all the time. I put Don in one of his more elegant outfits and checked out the business options I had.

Snazzy!

Hm, okay, we’ll see how this works out. The first thing I did was set a uniform for female employees, which is what Don would like to have. The uniform was rather… well let’s say it adheres to Don’s taste.

These people were available for hire and I decided to hire Rebecca Boland. Snape would be the obvious choice for his skill, but as I said Don prefers young women as employees. Then, I tagged a lot of stuff for sale and opened the store! Yay, first day of business.

Rebecca showed up shortly after but she was not wearing the uniform Don had chosen for female employees! How dare she!

I had to assign her a uniform of her own. Her task for today was answering customer questions about the new store. Which, in hindsight, was not a good idea. How would Rebecca know anything about the store? Don hired her like 1 hour ago. But look, our first customer!

Woop woop! Many others followed suit. One of them was Camille Thoreau who seemed interested in one of the treadmills. No wonder, I see her jogging in Oasis Springs all the time.

Although she is married, I sent Don over to talk to her since there were no other potential targets. Also, I wanted to test what the business system is like. There were numerous options which raised a blue bar above Camille’s head. I assume this would be the I-will-buy-this-shit meter.

While Don was eloquently explaining the advantages of this particular treadmill, Camille looked to another customer for help. I think she felt rather overwhelmed with Don’s attention. Can’t blame him. It’s his first day in business and he needs to make a good impression. Just tone it down a notch, will you, Don?

Nevertheless, Camille was ready to buy. But wait, where is she going? Wasn’t she interested in the treadmill?

Meanwhile, Don is already checking out other ladies. Focus!

Nope, turns out she wanted to buy this outfit instead. Hm. Weird. But well, Don went to ring her up (That sounds a bit nasty tbh).

This took a lot of time. Geeze, I definitely need this business perk for faster check out. I just hope Rebecca is getting other customers ready to buy so we can speed this up.

Looks great, Camille! Good choice. And she brought in Don’s first self-earned 218 Simoleons. Woo!

The store got rather crowded and many people wanted to buy even without Don or Rebecca answering their questions. Wow, I never thought this would be so much work!

Don gladly rang up this lovely lady. Turns out, she’s a teen. Nope Don, you’re not going there (Not that you could, anyway).

Bob Pancakes wanted to buy this sporty attire. Is he trying to get in shape for his wife, Eliza?

Don spotted a love interest of his, Alba Palermo. She’s a barkeeper and they met and kissed at the park (when Don was meant to be on a date with Nina, lmao). He took the chance to charm her into buying some fitness stuff.

But he also charmed her in other ways. Alba was a bit embarassed by this public display of affections and looked at the other customers apologetically. Oh, btw, that’s Rebecca in the pink top. She was not helpful at all! She just stood around or played on the office computer. I need to lock that door for sure.

Even though Don uses his store to pick up women, he has a kid section as well – for all those single moms shopping with their children. And look who showed up! Summer Landgraab, one of the Landgraab twins. She was not at all impressed by Don’s offers though.

I was reminded by Rebecca that I had her “working” overtime by now. Pfff, you didn’t do a thing! But well, time to end this business day. Don’s store made an astounding 477 Simoleons of profit today. Woo! But paying this 200.000$ loan off might take a while…

That’s it for today, folks! See you next time round!

Last Don Lothario Chapter: Chapter 20

Chapter 51 – The Clever Plan

Kalaya stood on the roof of the Temple, watching them arrive from a distance. She felt sick. Inviting other Tribe’s Champions to the fight had seemed like a good idea to restore her honour. But now that the day was here, she wasn’t sure if she could do it.

She breathed in deeply and tried to steady her thoughts. This is it, you can’t change the plan now. You trained for this and you will win. Feeling slightly more confident, Kalaya descended the great Temple steps to greet her challengers. The priestess joined her at the Temple entrance.

Ever since the day, Kalaya had told her about her plan, the priestess had been very supportive. She had let her train whenever she could, but never neglected to have Kalaya sharpen her mind with chess and meditation. The plan was a clever one. Every tribe who doubted Kalaya’s honour should send forth their own champion and Kalaya would fight them all. A tribe that wouldn’t send a champion would automatically accept Kalaya as Creator of Tribe Arayeo. And if she won, they had no choice but to respect her. On the other hand, if she lost… If she had put too much on her plate… They would never respect her again. The Legacy of Tribe Arayeo would be over. Kalaya shivered at the thought.
Four champions had come to the fight. And she had to defeat the Temple champion, the Tiger, as well. Some of the women seemed anxious to begin the fight, other signaled outright disrespect for their opponent. They clearly did not believe that Kalaya would be able to win. Kalaya straightened her shoulders.
„Welcome to the Temple“, the priestess greeted the women. „You have come here today to fight Kalaya Arayeo, who claims the title of Creator for her tribe. Please, come inside.“
The women stayed silent as they walked past Kalaya into the Temple. Some of them nodded in greeting, others just scowled. Kalaya followed them into the Temple. She stepped into the fighting pit and turned to look at all of her challengers.

They were all strong and big. Kalaya knew that she must rely on her cunning and swiftness to win. She was rather small and while she was trained, she was not as big as these women. But she would use that to her advantage. The champions were bound to underestimate her, then she would strike by surprise.
„The first fight. Kalaya Arayeo against the Temple Champion, The Tiger.“
The women at the side snickered as the familiar face of the Tiger stepped into the pit. Kalaya didn’t listen. She would show them all. She had fought the Tiger before. She was prepared.
„Fight!“, came the priestess command like a bullet, and the Tiger wasted no time in launching herself at Kalaya. But this time, Kalaya knew what was coming and whirled to the side, leaving the Tiger stumbling.

The snickers faded and were replaced with a tense silence. The fight went on, but Kalaya had the upper hand. A few times, the Tiger landed a hit, but Kalaya quickly recovered and continued dancing around the Temple champion, tiring her.

Finally, she saw an opening and struck the last blow. The Tiger stepped back in a daze, threatening to fall over. The priestess held up her hand.

„That’s enough. Kalaya Arayeo wins.“
Angry whispers ensued among the other champions. „The priestess’s doing…“, „She let her win…“, „Staged…“. But Kalaya didn’t notice. She had won her first fight. Renewed confidence flowed through her. She could actually do this. Win back her honour. Return to her tribe. A quick wave of sadness washed over her at the thought, that her mother was not here. But the priestess had told her, that the second fight of a Creator heiress was to hold in private, as to not pose any distractions and shut out ill-willed spectators. Which sadly meant that her mother was not allowed to come to the fight. She would find out the result either from her, when she returned, or from the priestess if she lost. But she would not. She must not! Kalaya cleared her head and concentrated on the woman who had stepped into the pit. She was large and well trained and she looked at Kalaya with disgust. As if she was an insect, she was about to crush.
„Zeila, from Tribe Geozo“, she announced in a hoarse voice. The priestess nodded.
„Do you agree to accept Kalaya Arayeo’s position as Creator and to pay her due respect, should you lose?“, she asked. The woman nodded curtly as if she hadn’t even listened to the priestess’s words. Kalaya tensed up. She would show her.
„Fight!“
Zeila did not make the same mistake as the Tiger and didn’t jump at Kalaya straight away. Instead, they circled each other, Zeila was sneering.
„How does it feel to be a disappointment?“

Kalaya ignored her comment but tried to find ways to strike her opponent by surprise.
„Your tribe will die. How could someone like you ever hope to win?“, Zeila grinned. Anger flared up inside Kalaya. Just shut up and fight, she thought. But she didn’t say anything. She knew that Zeila was merely trying to provoke her, so she could strike her when she was unprepared.

„You will die, old and alone in this Temple, knowing that you were never good enough for anything.“
That was just enough. Kalaya’s temper rose. „Shut -“, she started, but she never got it all out, before Zeila let out a roar and launched herself at her. In the brief moment of distraction, Kalaya didn’t manage to spin away as graciously, but still, the other woman merely scratched her fingernails over her forearm. Breathing heavily, Zeila stared at her as a little droplet of blood oozed from the wound on Kalaya’s arm. But the fight ensued again, shortly after.

This time, Kalaya jumped at her opponent but duck away from a blow and struck Zeila on the back. The other woman screamed and fought back. This wasn’t as easy as the fight against the Tiger, Kalaya realised. The fight continued while back and forth both women struck blows. But suddenly, Kalaya jumped over a low kick and knocked Zeila over with a quick hit.

The other woman fell to the ground as Kalaya stood over her, panting.
„Kalaya Arayeo wins!“, the priestess announced.

Zeila scowled as she dusted off her clothes and stood up. But as a dutiful Amazon, she bowed before the winner.
„You have won this fight honourably“, she said through gritted teeth. „You have earned Tribe Geozo’s respect.“

And while she might have been angry, there was actually a hint of respect in Zeila’s voice. Kalaya was glad about winning, but she knew this was not over yet. There was no whispering this time. An eerie suspense hung in the air as the other champions realised she would not be an easy opponent. Grim-faced, the second champion stepped into the pit.

The many hours of relentless training had been worth it, Kalaya thought as she stood victorious over her third opponent. The woman gave the obligatory respect speech and turned away to join the other defeated women. Only one champion was left now. The violet-haired woman walked into the pit.

She wasn’t as big as the others and she was wearing a smile. But Kalaya saw the hunger in her eyes. She was hungry to fight and hungry to win. Her slender figure wouldn’t make it as easy for Kalaya to tire her or gain an advantage by acting faster. She would be just as swift.
„Ailee, from Tribe Faarang“, she said and after the priestess had asked her whether she would accept Kalaya as Creator: „If she wins with honour, I and Tribe Faarang will pay her our respects.“

Her voice was light and kind. But there was something underneath, that Kalaya could not quite place. A hint of something evil, chained and bound but still there. She felt tense. This was it, the last fight. She was exhausted from the previous encounters, her muscles were screaming, but she would not listen. One more, she told herself, and it will be over. One more.
„Fight!“, the priestess called and instantly both women engaged, trying to gain an advantage.

As Kalaya had predicted, Ailee was just as swift as herself and the constantly circled each other, both landing blows and dodging them equally. Kalaya felt her sore muscles crying out in pain. But she must not lose. She concentrated hard to find an opening in the other woman’s defense, but there was none.

Suddenly, Ailee took a last second turn and struck her hard on the side. Kalaya felt herself falling. No. This could not happen. Her grandmothers face flashed before her eyes. No. She tensed up and caught her fall with her hand, in the same motion whirling her legs upwards, kicking Ailee to the ground and pushing herself back onto her feet.

Both women were panting. But only as the priestess cried out: „Kalaya Arayeo wins!“, Kalaya realized that she had finally done it. She had won.
